*Acrylic painting is also an option if you choose.  I actually prefer this on some of my pieces. If you choose Acrylic paint, the item is not food safe. There will be a times for you and your group to come and glaze/paint your clay piece.

Classes are nonrefundable, as spots are limited.

Firings can take 2 to 3 weeks, as the clay MUST BE COMPLETELY DRY Before it can be Fired.  THERE IS NO RUSHING OF THIS, PLEASE DO NOT ASK!

Wheel throwing will be available, please note we have 3 wheels. Our studio is also equipped with a slab roller, a clay extruder, and many texture and tools to use with lots of room to create hand building projects (my Favorite!)

Wheel throwing is best for ages 10 to adult, that can listen and follow directions.  Each person needs to have patience as they are learning the wheel. Wheel classes will begin in March 2019

ArtBarnATX uses a good basic clay (LongHorn White) from local business Armadillo clay. All work will be fired in our kilns and is food safe. Ceramics & Glazing can be fun and experimental.  There may be times in the firing process that something happens to make a Happy Surprise, or a great learning Surprise. Either way be ready for a surprise.

It is recommended that all work should be finished within the workshop time, unless you are planning on coming to the monthly classes.  Glazing & Painting will be available after 2 weeks of building your ceramic vessel.  There will be open times that you can come back to paint your vessel.
