Illustration for Beginners
- Ages: 6 – 9
- Cost: $165
- September 15th – October 20th (Thursday – once a week) 4:30 PM – 6:00 PM
Create your own “unique picture book” using panels to convey the passage of time. The instructor will provide fun illustration prompts to get your creative juices going. Students will receive one-on-one instructions as they illustrate their topic of choice. We will discuss simple drawing tips on how-to-draw animals and people. We will review the importance of composition, color balance, and contrast. We will be working in the mediums of pencils, pen and ink, watercolor, and chalk pastels.
All supplies are included in the cost.

*8 students must sign up by September 5th or your money will be refunded. 12 Maximum per class.
Parents are encouraged to drop kids off. If parents would like to stay, they are welcome to hang out in one of the other rooms.

This class is taught by Julissa Mora.
Julissa has a BFA in Illustration from Ringling School of Art and Design. She’s passionate about both painting and creating work for the children’s market. She’s been working as a professional illustrator for children’s books for over a decade. You can see her illustrations in magazines, games, stationery, board books, and picture books. She loves sharing her knowledge with others and enjoys seeing both kids and adults explore their creative sides. She believes that art is a form of therapy that everyone needs in their lives.
Julissa was born and raised in Miami in a Cuban household. She currently lives in North Austin with her family and furry pet.
